The 101st Episode of The Marketing Book Podcast featured a fun interview with Scott Stratten. Scott is co-author, along with Alison Stratten, of the book “UnMarketing”: Everything has changed, and nothing is Different. This is the second edition of “UnMarketing, Stop Marketing, Start Engagement,” their 2009 bestseller.
The 2009 edition demonstrated how to stop interruptive and irritating marketing and instead attract the right customers while building trust through engagement and listening and not acting like a scumbag.
This second edition of Scott and Alison’s hilarious and brilliant book is back, with the same brilliance, humor, and gut-busting humor as the first, but updated with new commentary and content to reflect today’s rapidly changing world.
Scott Stratten, the president of UnMarketing, is a Canadian. Forbes named him one of the world’s five most influential social media users. Business Review USA also called him one of America’s top 10 marketing gurus.
He has also written, with his wife Alison Kramer: “The Book of Business Awesome,” UnSelling,” as well as what I consider to be the best title of any marketing book in the history of printed words: “QR codes kill kittens: how to alienate customers, dishearten employees, and drive your business into the ground.”
